It's All about the Decorations!

Happy Thanksgiving! It's a yummy holiday. but there's not much to it. And I mostly mean the decorating.
This is all I did for Thanksgiving. Not much, but he's great, right? I did most of him--he's got a great mustache. I love scarecrows!

Halloween was a lot more interesting to decorate for. See our spooky spider walkway? Tommy was so scared he wouldn't go down it without me! He doesn't like being scared like I do.

This is our Halloween flag. Mom made it exactly the way I wanted it. It kept us safe from monsters on Halloween night. "They see their picture on the flag and they know they are scared away because we know what they look like."

And, of course, we had pumpkins and a skeleton. I just loved Halloween!

Tomorrow we are decorating for Christmas. Mom says I'll really like this holiday--maybe even more than Halloween. That's hard to imagine, but we'll just have to see...

Halloween is for the Night!

Happy Halloween! So far, this is absolutely my favorite holiday! Dressing up--candy--parties--candy--spooky songs--candy--games--candy...
I love the dressing up part, for sure. At our Ward Halloween party I was Spiderman.

I wasn't allowed to wear my mask, so Mom painted on my face--a spider and a web.

Then, today, my school had a big party and my family got to come. Tommy and I switched costumes. I was Peter Pan and he was Spiderman!

Princess Flower was an angel! Doesn't she look beautiful! All the little girls in my class loved her. The swarmed around her all the time and Audrey loved it!

After snack, Boswick the Clown came. He did magic, made balloons, and told jokes.

I laughed and laughed, but Tommy was scared! Audrey just slept, silly girl. At the end Boswick gave everyone a balloon. Mine looks like a dog. Tommy's is a pumpkin.

The last part of the party was a parade around the school. This is me walking with Nethra. She's my sweetheart and "she likes me a lot!" She wears pretty dresses and "gives me slimey kisses."

Tommy liked the parade part, but the whole time he asked about the clown and and said, "The clown fuuuunny. Want the clown again." I guess he wasn't as scared as I thought.

So far the day has been fun, but I'm really excited for tonight. There's going to be a big party with a fire truck and then we'll go trick-or-treating. After all, "Halloween is for the night and the dark. Halloween is not for the day!"

Baby Sister

I have posted about my sister before, but the truth is, I love her more and more every day. We have a special friendship already, even though she is just a baby.

She gives me a special smile every time she sees me and I take very good care of her--feeding her, holding her, and even burping her. I show her to everyone we meet, even strangers.

She really is the prettiest, silliest, most amazing sister in the world. And she gets prettier and more grown up every day. I love my Princess Flower and I'd do anything for her.

Back to School!

I went back to school on September 2. It's called "pre-K". Last year I went to Joy School (I called it my 3-year-old school) and next year I'll go to Kindergarten.

I was so ready to start school again! See, I had my backpack (packed with spare clothes) and my new shoes and Mom even let me pick out my outfit for the day. I'm so handsome!

When I got to school, I ran right up to my new teachers (Miss Sarah and Miss Sally) and showed them my backpack and my new shoes. I announced, "It's my first day of school!!!"

Since that time, I've decided I really like school. We play on the playground and dance and draw pictures (I drew an acorn last Monday). I even have a new friend, Johnny. He's the biggest kid in class.

You know, I don't think three days a week is enough, but I do think three hours a day is plenty. I mean, I like school, but I'm always glad to see Mom when she comes to get me. Some of the kids in my class stay all day because their mommies go to work just like their daddies. That's too bad for them.

I have school today and I'm wearing my super shirt! Gotta go now or I'll be late!

Arizona

Mom, Grandma Gayle, Grandpa David, Tommy, Audrey, and I went to Arizona last week to Visit Grandpa and Grandma Bradshaw. They are Grandma Gayle's Mama and Daddy.

It was a very good trip. First we all slept at Grandma and Grandpa's house (which I love). Then, really early in the morning, we all got up and jumped in the car. We drove ALL DAY and had snacks and toys.

Arizona is very hot "because it has a desert", but it's a great place to see family!
I got to spend one morning with my cousin Baylie. We went swimming, ate peanut butter sandwiches, and watched a movie. Good times!

Mostly we saw Grandma and Grandpa Bradshaw. They like hugs and kisses, and say such nice things, but they can't hear me very well.

Here is Grandma Bradshaw holding Audrey. You can't see it very well, but she has "an old elbow". I told her that her old elbow meant she was going to die, but she doesn't have to worry because she'll go to Heavenly Father and Jesus and they'll take care of her. Everyone thought I shouldn't have said anything, but I thought she ought to know.

Tommy was shy at first, but soon he was giving Grandma and Grandpa Bradshaw lots of hugs and kisses. He really likes hugs and kisses.

Grandma loves us very much. I know because she told me so and there was this look in her eyes all the time. So much love.

Grandpa loves us too. He laughed a lot and demanded hugs and kisses every morning. I was happy to hug him, but his beard tickled my ears!

We stayed for four days and then drove home ALL DAY again. I was happy to be home and see Daddy again (we really missed Daddy a lot), but I also had a good time in Arizona.

I would go back. Yep.

My Princess Flower

You probably know all about her, but I have to dedicate at least one post to my darling little sister--"Audrey Karren Princess Flower Lyle". She's very little and has no idea how much we all love her.

Did you know, when she was born I went to the hospital to visit her? "She looked like a rectangle. And a circle." No one understands what I mean when I say that, but she did!
I adore Audrey. Every time I see her I have to pause whatever I'm doing to say hi and talk to her for a while. "She's so cute!" I tell her everything about all kinds of things: shoes, toys, books, trees, rocks, toothbrushes--everything!

She smiles at me (she didn't used to know how to smile--she's good at it now) and I love it! I also love it when she holds my finger, and makes silly faces, and burps really loud. She's so pretty and silly and cute!

I'm proud of my sister and I'm going to help her figure everything out. Like, "when she gets big, I'm going to teach her how to walk."

I'll be the best big brother to my little Princess Flower.

Birthdays

It's birthday time around our place and I'm getting tired of it. It's because there's lots of parties, presents, singing, and cake, and none of it is for me.

Look, I know everyone is entitled to a birthday now and then, but I'm feeling a little left out here. When is my birthday coming back?

Mom says it'll be after Halloween and Christmas...next year. Oh great. Doesn't she realize how far away Halloween and Christmas are? They are forever away! I want it to be my birthday NOW. It's my turn!

Sorry. I'm four. Patience is not in my programing.

Exciting Visit

Pop and Yaya are coming to OUR house this weekend! Hooray!

Mom says they are coming to see Audrey get blessed (still not sure what this is), but I know better--they miss me. They are coming to play with me (and Tommy, I guess).

I know because last time they came, they played with Tommy and me. They brought presents, stayed all day, and then read us stories for bedtime.

They can't be coming to see Audrey. I mean, she's cute and I love her, but she doesn't do anything. She isn't any fun yet. She doesn't know what presents are, she can't play games, and she doesn't listen when you read her a book.

See? I'm a lot more interesting than a baby. So is Tommy. Pop and Yaya will have fun playing with us. I can't wait!

Presenting...ME!

Here's me right now...

I get up with the sun and have a light breakfast (chex and some fruit). I like morning cartoons and cuddling on the couch until I feel like getting dressed.

I am developing a sense of style and I decide what I wear every day. I like bright colors, fuzzy pants, and my 'prince' coat.

My favorite thing to do is go for walks with Daddy. We walk together every Sunday and explore the area around our town. It's great to be with Daddy--just him and me.

Mommy says I am getting so big and long. She says I'm all arms and legs and she doesn't know where I get all my energy.

My closest friends are Emma F., Thomas B., Laney P., and Olivia Z. I know how to count to 20 and write my name (I write it on everything!). I like pirates, cowboys, trucks, robots, flying, and the color red. I make up songs all the time (most popular around our house is the La La Gregord song).
