Busy Guy

Well, it has been a while, hasn't it? Life is pretty crazy around here and I have so much to do with school and homework and T-ball starting soon and a new baby…Mom and I have decided I'm going to take a break from this blog until I'm old enough to write it myself. Any fun stuff you need to know about me will be on her Lately Lyle blog from now on.

Still, I want to bring you up to date, so here's some highlights from the last six months.

First (and most important) my name is not Brady.
My name is Bradley.
Bradley Lyle.
It is a nice name and I want everyone to call me Bradley now.
There, now you know.

I started First Grade last September! I am now a good, consisted reader and addicted to it.
I'm also very good at math, but it bores me. I love keeping up with trends and am very social (though most of my friends are girls--hee hee!) and when I get in trouble at school it's for talking to my friends during class. I love school and bring home all kinds of games, songs, and jokes that make Mom and Dad laugh and laugh.

This is my teacher, Mrs. Messina. She is so cool and I like her very much.
Every day, as we walk out the door, she has everyone give her a high-five, but I don't. I always shake her hand, because I am too grown up for high-fives.

We had a baby this year!
This is my baby brother, Robby. "He is the cutest baby in the world!"
I love to show him to everyone and I am the only kid in our family who is allowed to carry him around. It's because I'm so big and strong.

I spend a lot of time outside and have gotten very good at balancing and doing tricks on my scooter. I like my bike too, but it's too small for me. The scooter is better!

I played T-ball last year (and I'm starting my second year this year).
I was on the Diamondbacks team and Daddy helped coach my team. When the season was over, I got a trophy and the award for "most improved in the fielding"!
This year Daddy is my coach and we are on the Cardinals team!

Christmas was so fun this year!
I got a magic kit, dragon 'stompeez' (they are the coolest slippers. I BEGGED for them), lots of candy, and a whole bunch of other toys. We had a wonderful time decorating, celebrating, and eating yummy food (I especially loved all the candy canes).
Grandma and Grandpa and Alli came to town and we loved seeing them!

After the New Year, we made a trip to Arizona and visited Grandma and Grandpa Bradshaw (more on that in Mom's blog). I especially loved the park we went to. I fed hundreds of ducks goldfish crackers and chased them all over the place.
I make a pretty good duck, if I do say so myself.

I know you'll miss my blog.
I'm smart, clever, and extremely silly.
I love to put on a show and make everyone laugh (especially myself).
Don't worry--you'll see plenty of me on Mom's blog.

For now, I'll leave the blogging to the babies.

Growing up!

I am feeling very grown up lately.
I turned six, started first grade, and I can clean my own room!

And like other big kids, I started losing teeth this summer!
I've lost four so far--the bottom two front teeth and then the top two front teeth.

The sad part is, I ate the first two. Don't worry, the tooth fairy still came and brought me quarters, but I was disappointed not to be able to hold them and put them under my pillow.

The second two were pulled out the right way and I was so proud!
Grandpa David pulled out one of them and Mommy got the second one while we were on our way to Bear Lake. I feel so grown up with my baby teeth falling out and big boy teeth coming in!

And I LOVE feeling all grown up!

Mummies and Spaceships

I've been worried about Mummies lately.
I keep thinking they're going to come get me while I sleep.
Daddy and Mama wanted to show me what a real mummy was, so they took all of us to a
Mummy Museum.

My favorite part was the underground tomb.
We took flashlights (Tommy and I got to hold them) and went down a lot of stairs to see what it looked like under pyramids where mummies are buried.

See, Daddy told me mummies are really just people who lived a long time ago and when they died someone wrapped them up and put them under pyramids.
They put pictures on the walls too, but I don't know why they would do that.
Mummies are too dead to see the pictures, but Tommy and I liked them a lot.

Look at this mummy! That's his skin, all grayish brown and he looks sleepy (and a little creepy), but he's definitely dead--he won't be coming into my bedroom at night! HA!

 These are baby crocodile mummies!
I don't know why they made these little guys into mummies...and I don't know where their feet went.

I really liked this big mummy box. I wanted to give it a hug, but the museum put this big glass case around it, so couldn't get too close, but I did my best.

Ooooo, this one had yucky teeth!
Tommy and I went crazy over it! Mummies are cool!

Outside the museum, I rode a huge goat (or sheep, or ram, or whatever it is)...
...and hid in a funny little temple.

 Peek-a-boo!!!

 We had a great time!

After lunch we went to a space museum. Tommy and I loved the pretend rocket. We got to push buttons, twist knobs, and look at everything! We didn't ever want to leave.

I wouldn't mind being an astronaut when I grow up...can't you just see me walking on the moon?
Oh, yes, you can!

Snow Adventure!

I love the snow,
so I was super excited when Mama and Daddy announced we were having a snow day!
We all got dressed up warm and got ready for the first snow activity...

 Ski-school!

I had a teacher just for me
and I was doing so well that I got to leave the first slope and try one that was a little harder.

 I messed up sometimes...

...but most of the time I did great! I loved going fast!

After lessons we had hot chocolate and made snow angels

Then I played on the snow hills.

 Climbing was rough (and cold)...

 ...but going down was great!

 Daddy liked it!

 Mama liked it!

 I really liked it

I also liked playing on the tube-merry-go-round with Tommy.
What a perfect day!!!

Christmas!

I have noticed that Christmas is a great time for parties. There seems to be a lot of them.

The first Christmas party this year was the church party.

Tommy and I both got to get up with the Primary and sing Christmas Primary songs.
I sang a little. Tommy was scared and didn't sing at all.

We didn't get costumes, though. They didn't have enough for everyone, but with our Christmas sweaters, Tommy and I looked pretty good!

There was dinner at the party too and it was all right, but the desserts were better.
I ate lots of cookies.

The best part of all was meeting Santa.
I told him what a wanted for Christmas (a toy penguin) and he gave me a candy cane!!!

Then we had another party on Christmas Eve.
The family came over and we ate a big, beautiful dinner.
And then we sang songs (and whistled songs too--our Christmas Crackers came with whistles inside!)

We opened presents and stockings from the Grandparents.
I gave Grandma and Grandpa a book about rainbows and I think they liked it very much.

All the uncles and Aunties were there.
Did you know Aunt Barb is having a baby soon? She's having a little girl.
Aunt Karren is having a baby too--a little boy.
Hurray for new cousins!

Christmas morning was the best party of all, though.
The hardest part was waiting for Audrey to wake up...she took forever!
When she finally came out, we did stockings (mine is the gold one in the middle!)

Then we opened the presents around the tree.
We got hula hoops, legos, beyblades, and lots of other things!
And when that was over, we packed up and went to Uncle Stu and Aunt Barb's house to eat, watch movies, and play games.

What a great Christmas!

Sunset Beach

It's been raining a lot here, but a few weeks ago we had one day that was perfect! The sun was out and warm. The sky was clear and we just needed to get OUT!

See, days like that are rare (even here in California) at this time of year,
so we kidnapped Daddy and raced to the beach!

The problem was days the days were getting shorter and we got there just before sunset.
Still the water was nice and any time you can be at the beach is a good time!

Mama and Tommy stayed by the blanket mostly--they don't like being cold.
So, it was up to Daddy, Audrey, and me to enjoy the huge waves! It was heaven!

Even whenAudrey got pretty cold, she just could't stay away from those waves!
And who could blame her? She takes after me!

In the end, Tommy caved and came down too.

All too soon the sun was gone
and I only had time to throw the frisbee a few times before we had to go home.

Daddy always says the beach helps him relax and makes him happy.
I guess I take after him.
